Starting Off: Skincare.

So today's the first post of 'The Starting Off Profect' with 9 more weeks to go. So without a further or do, I'd like to get straight into this weeks topic.

SKINCARE

Everyone goes through days when their skin is looking spotty and feeling a little rough, you've got a lot of blemishes and you just want them gone! I had this and i needed to find myself a new skin care routine which would help my skin clear up and feel a lot softer.

I'm a massive fan of Soap & Glory in itself. Their products smell sooooo good and they have some genuinely fabulous products that help with a lot of areas of skincare. I picked up the 'Fresh and Foamy Body Wash' from www.boots.com! With Lime, Kiwi Juice and skin softening OMEGA-RICH veggie oil. Its very conditioning for the skin and leaves it feeling soft and moisturised after its been used. I put it on while in the shower and its smells amazing the rich lime and kiwi juice in it really stays on your throughout the day after your wash. You lather a small handful of the body wash all over your body giving it a really good scrub and then rinse. Obviously you have to be careful not to get it in your eyes.. lime in the eyes is as we all could imagine extremely uncomfortable so avoiding this is highly recommended! haha. It can be picked up from Boots for £6.50 i believe and thats for a 50ml Bottle with a pump! Always handy while in the shower.

After i get out the shower i almost every time have panda eyes. You know the one, when your eye make-up has decided its going to be stubborn and cement itself under your eyes. So that's where these wipes come in handy. I picked these up the other week from the co-operative while my dad was doing a bit of shopping. I really needed some at the time so I thought I'd give these a try and i really like them. Normally with face wipes i find them leaving the under bit of my eyes a little bit stingy and i think that maybe due to the fragrance of some of them. These ones have Aloe Vera in them and they gently cleanse and tone the face! 2 in one, that's what i like to hear. Makes the whole process which lets be honest can be a bit long and treacherous at times much quicker. They remove the make-up really well and they do smell really nice.
You can get this from http://www.co-operative.coop/ for around £1.99 so affordable!

And of course we can't forget and nice moisturising cream to put on after all that scrubbing to leave your face feeling soft and moisturised. This one is from the Nivea range with added Jojoba Oil & Vitamin E. Its highly effective moisturising cream for everyday use on your face, body and hands. It quickly absorbs into your skin leaving it feel sensationally soft, supple and invigorated. I use this all over my face my legs and down my arms if they are feeling a little bit dry. You can again pick this up from www.boots.com for around £3! I have this in a tub version as well I absolutely love it!

Thats it for my first post of the series.. i'll see you again next week for Concealer.

REVIEW: Everyday Scent; Jimmy Choo

Now I'm not going to lie this isn't the cheapest perfume but it has become my all time favourite.

It all started when my mum went out for lunch with her friends and she really liked the scent that the waitress serving her was wearing. So mum being mum, went and asked her what she had on to find out it was Jimmy Choo FLASH! After telling her partner how much she liked when she got home he then went out purchased it and surprised her. Lets just say i was extremely jealous haha. Mum knew that she would have to hide it because if I knew where it was I'd have definitely got my hands on it. After finally accepting the fact my mum wouldn't let me have any of hers i decided it was time to go and purchase my own. So i hopped on down to Debenhams and purchased a small bottle at the retail price of around £36.

This is the second scent brought out by Jimmy Choo. And its more floral then the original which I'm lead to believe had more of a sweet scent. Flash has hints of Pink Pepper, Tangerine and Strawberry. After the scent has been on you for awhile and it dies down a little bit you can really start to get the smell of white lilly and jasmine. I would definitely say this is not for people who aren't a big fan of strong smelling perfumes as it does come across quite fierce.

I have been complimented and asked what I'm wearing when i have had this fragrance on. I do understand its not for everyone but I absolutely love it!

The packaging itself i am a huge fan of. The glitter on the box really gives it that glamorous and glitzy feel. Just what you would expect from a brand like Jimmy Choo. And the square bottle is lovely, simple and such a lovely bright colour.

All in all I would really recommend you at least go and have a smell of this if you're passing by. And as its the holiday season ATM and you're popping through duty free at the airport what a fabulous opportunity to pick one up!

BEAUTY: Goto Everyday Make-up!

For me its essential to have an everyday set make-up routine that i can go to when I'm in a rush and quickly need to get ready for work.

Rimmel London WAKE ME UP foundation in 103 True Ivory -

This is my every day foundation. I love it because it does what it says and wakes me up. It has such gradient glow and I love the shimmer in it as it makes me feel a lot more fresh and flawless on my skin. For a high street brand i feel it is so good and really feels like a top end brand. To apply it i use a Real Techniques 'Stippling Brush'. It gives a really even and streaky free finish I really love using a brush. Before i used a brush i used to use my hands and its amazing the difference. It's more natural!

Rimmel London STAY MATTE pressed powder -

This powder is fantastic! I'm one of them people that suffers with an oily skin. Oily skin can be a challenge. It is usually seen on thicker, larger pored skin and contributes to blemishes. If you're one of these people too then this is definitely the powder for you. Always try to use powder blushes as well and powder eye shadows instead of cream ones. To apply this again i used a brush for the Real Techniques range 'Multi Task Brush' its just an all round brush and does what it says on the tin (as they like to say haha!). And another big thing for me with this product is the fact is smells so nice. Always a bonus seems as its going to be on your face!

SLEEK eye shadow Palette in Au Naturel 601 -

Now this step is going to be a two in one for me. Eye shadow and Eyebrows, as i like to hit the nail on the head with 2 things in one palette.

First, I'm going to start with eyebrows - I personally feel that a powder gives a more natural look. fills it in but its isn't as sharp. I use the colours 'Cappuccino' and 'Bark' mixed together for my perfect combination. To apply i use an angled brush. I haven't got a brand angled brush ATM and I'm hoping to pick up the 'MAC 208 Angled Brow Brush'.

Next, Eye Shadow - I just like to put a simple natural colour over my lids on a day to day base's and my most used colour would have to be 'Honeycomb' its just a light colour and isn't too stand out. And of course  if I'm feeling daring or I'm going somewhere a bit more fancy I will pop 'bark' into the crease to give a slight smoky eye.

SLEEK Face Contour Kit -

It brightens up your face and is fabulous for getting the contoured look famously known by Kim Kardashian. I've been using the Rimmel London Bronzing powder but I wanted to try something new and I've heard fabulous things about this product so I thought I'd give it a try and so far I've really enjoyed it. It's matte so it doesn't have any shimmer in it which is different to the one I have been using. And the Highlighter is great, the light really bounces off it! Really caught the light where i applied it under my brow bone on my cheeks and down my nose.

Maybelline The Mega Plush Volum' Express Mascara -

Love this mascara it adds a lot of volume and doesn't clump my eye lash's together. I hate my eyelash's in general I find them to be really short and stumpy. And recently I've been putting on fake eyelashes  But, if I'm going to use a mascara this is the one I'd use. Big recommend from me.

MAC Lipstick in PLEASE ME -

I love the smell and taste of this lipstick its so nice to have something on your lips that doesn't feel like play dough if you like. Its a matte finish but it still feels moisturising and refreshing for the lips. I love the colour 'Please Me' its a really nice day to day colour which is exactly why i picked it. I don't really have the confidence to wear a bright red or pink lipstick from day to day. So this light pink is prefect. I love Macs packaging as well it looks really professional and pretty.

SLEEK Blush By 3 in LACE 367 -

These really pigmented blush's are so so lovely. I love the way they brighten up your face. As I've said before i do suffer from slightly oily skin so a cream blush is a no. I heard a lot of great reviews over the sleek products and how pigmented they are and they do such lovely bight colours. After purchasing myself and trying out the product i have to say i completely agree. And its made me want to go out and purchase a few more of their blush palettes in different colours. My Favourite from this palette would have to be 'Crochet'.

Tag: The Liebster Award!

I bet you're wondering what is this post? yes, it is a little different to my usual posts but i wanted to do it as i was tagged to do it. Its a post to help up and coming new bloggers to get a bigger following! I was nominated by CynicalSuzy for the Liebster award this week so I now get to do my own post and nominate some more new bloggers.

It's so important in this blogging community to help out and show support and share one another blogs. So I thought this would be the best place to start. Its so nice personally to find other people that have the same interests as me and as a big talker myself its so nice to ramble on about the things I like and know that somewhere some people are paying attention. And for me that's amazing.

Firstly, i would like thank CynicalSuzy for nominating me for this award. I really do appreciate it you are so lovely. Its so nice to know that all the effort i am putting into my posts and blog is appreciated and that you are enjoying what i'm producing.

For those of you that are thinking, what the hell is this award? the Award is given to new bloggers, with less than 200 followers. It basically just helps people get out there and helps more people find your blog.

--------------------------------------

Anyway, before i start rambling on to the point of bore..

THE RULES:

1. You have to link back the person who has nominated you.

2. You have to answer the 11 questions set by the person that nominated you.

3. You have to come up with 11 questions for the bloggers you nominate.

4. You have to nominate 11 bloggers with less than 200 followers to pass the award on to (not the person that nominated you! and notify them.)

5. You may also include 11 random facts about yourself.

--------------------------------------

11 Facts i was given by.. CynicalSuzy:

1. How & why did you get into blogging?

I got into blogging after discovering bloggers like: Zoella, Tanya Burr and Sprinkle of Glitter. I've had my blog now for over a year and very slowly i started gradually building up ideas and ofc, the confidence to post posts.

2. What do you do in the real world?

In the real world i am a fully qualified hair stylist. I studied it at college for all together around 4 years. And now that's what i do :)

3. If you could only use one make up product for the rest of your life, which would you chose?

For me personally, I would say FOUNDATION  it really brightens up my face and makes me feel fresh and flawless. I hate skin and the way it decides as and when it likes to pop out a few spots/blemishes. So getting rid of them for me with a foundation is perfect.

4. Who is your favourite you-tuber?

OMG that is such a hard question! I have subscribed to sooo many channels from so many different categories. But i guess as we're sticking with the beauty theme as that's what my blog is all about! I would have to say.. Zoella. She's such a genuine and down to earth person and i really really enjoy all her videos and blog posts. I can really relate to her and i feel like i can trust her word over certain beauty products. And i can watch her forever shes SO CUTE.

5. How do you choose what to blog about?

Its usually what i'm into at that certain moment and how i'm feeling! If i've been out and purchased some new products i like to try them out and give them an honest review so that other people can either go out and purchase them or not make the same mistake as me and waste their money.

6. Where in the world would  you  most like to go shopping, and why?

I'm going to say New York. For starters, i have always wanted to go there and I've heard its amazing. And i love the look of New York Fashion Week, It always looks so fabulous. I'd really love to attend there one day it would be great to make that happen.

7. What is your all-time favourite book?

I sat and read 'The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas' in one day. It was soooo good i just couldn't put it down. I did watch the film first before i had read the book but i think that shows how good it is if i was able to read the book even though i knew what was going to happen. Its so sad but i'm honestly fascinated by anything from the past i could sit and look into history for hours upon hours so for me it was the perfect book.

8. What's the best advice you've ever been given?

Be yourself, try your hardest. Don't do stuff to please other people, always to stuff to please yourself!

9. What is the biggest fashion mistake you've made?

I'm going to have to say when i was younger for some reason i used to live in this baggy trousers that used to have tassels on them! I don't know if any of you ever had them but my god when i look back on photos i think what the hell was i doing! hahaha.

10) If you won the lottery what would your first purchase be?

I know it sounds silly.. But it would be something for my mum. I know she's always been after her dream kitchen. So I'd pay for her to have a brand new top of the range kitchen installed. Making her happy is very important to me!

11) What's the worst film you've ever watched?

Any or the Paranormal Activity films! They are so predictable. I know a lot of people that think I'm mad and really enjoy them but i was so bored, i literally sat back and yawned through it. And could have happily fallen asleep!

--------------------------------------

Now for the people i am going to Nominate:

Coral Me Closer - coralmecloser.blogspot.com

--------------------------------------

My Questions For You:

1. What foundation do you use?
2. What's your opinion on drugstore makeup?
3. Who is you celebrity idol for Fashion and Beauty?
4. If you could leave the house using just ONE makeup item, what would it be?
5. If you could try out any job for a day, what would you try?
6. What is something most people don't know about you?
7. What is your biggest pet peeve?
8. What is a random fact about yourself?
9. Why did you start your blog and why?
10. Favourite makeup brand and why?
11. Place you most want to visit?

--------------------------------------

Thank you so much for sticking through and reading this extreamly long blog. But i really enjoyed doing it so i hope you enjoyed reading.

And ladies that i tagged, Please make sure you tell me when you've completed it because i sure would love to see what you've answered to the questions.

Rimmel London Kate Moss Collection Lipstick Review

Rimmel London Lipstick from the Kate Moss collection.

I absolutely LOVE this lipstick. It smells great, tastes great (not that I eat it) and although it is a matte formula it's still really hydrating and moisturizing for the lips. And I really love the fact it lasts for a really long time. I can put it on before I go out for dinner and I can guarantee that when I get back it's still in tact. It may not be as perfect as when I first put it on but for a high street brand and the price I think it's fantastic. I believe I picked it up in boots for around £3.99 on sale but it's normally around £5/6 mark I'd definitely say it's worth the price maybe even more.
Love the packaging for Rimmel Lipsticks in general they are really sturdy and look very professional. I like the fact the Kate Moss ones are in the red packaging for they stand out form the originals and they have they 'Kate Moss' signature on the packaging.

SLEEK REVIEW

Mini review on a few sleek products I picked up the other day and how I have been enjoying them.
DISCLAIMER: These views are of my own. I'm not saying that these 100% scientifically correct and I am not saying that in any way I am a professional and trained in any of these areas. These are just views as a buyer of these products after I've tried them myself.

I've seen a few bloggers rave about these products especially from Zoella. And as of being a huge fan and follower of her blog/YouTube I thought I'd head on to Superdrug and pick up a few of their products that had been recommended.

First up the - Blush BY 3 palette in LACE 367.

This palette comes with 3 different colours:

CROCHET GUIPURE CHANTILLY

They are intensely pigmented matte and shimmer blush's. I've been after a good bright blush for awhile now, I'm normally a bronzer girl i love looking like I've got a nice tan. But i thought i'd go for something with a bit of colour and these i have really enjoyed. My favourite colour would be the Crochet blush. I really enjoy the coralness of it. Really easy to apply! I personally use the Real Techniques multi task brush to apply it but you have to be careful not to apply too much because it can look like you've caked it on. You only need to apply the tiniest bit.. This is good though because you know its going to last you quite awhile.

Second up is the - Sleek Face Contour Kit in LIGHT 884

This comes with a Bronzing powder and a highlighter.

Again the bronzer is very pigmented and the smallest bit goes a long way! It really does brighten up your face and is fabulous for getting the contoured look famously known by Kim Kardashian. I've been using the Rimmel London Bronzing powder but i wanted to try something new and I've heard fabulous things about this product so i thought I'd give it a try and so far I've really enjoyed it. Its matte so it doesn't have any shimmer in it which is different to the one i have been using as its got a slight shimmer to it.
On to the Highlighter... I've only used this once when i was going on a night out and it was brilliant. Really caught the light where i applied it under my brow bone on my cheeks and down my nose. I can't give it a full review but so far its been great!

--------------------------------------------------------------------

I really like the packaging of the Sleek products and i think they are really easy to pop in your travel bag or make-up bag to carry around. And they come with big spacious mirrors as well so you're always able to touch up on the go!

I have got the Sleek Eyeshadow Palette in Au Natural but it wasn't in a very photogenic state as it's been used alot. But once i get a nice photo of it to show you i will do a review on that too :)

Bye bye hair

So I finally went for it and got my hair cut short! I went for a casual long bob. I've had really long hair for so long and recently I've gradually been going shorter. I know it's a big deal considering most people these days are dying for long hair. BUT trust me it isn't all it's cracked up for me I could give you some good point and bad points on long hair...

GOOD POINTS:

It looks lovely when it's down and curled lots of volume and is really full.
You can put it in a bun on top of your head and not have to worry about any bits falling down!
You can do a few styles with it trying something new.

BAD POINTS:

It takes AGES to dry.
It's hard to get alot of volume in it it's kinda just hangs and droops round your face.
Gets notty really quickly.
As its long the mid length to ends have obviously been around for a very long time so you have to take extra care of it in making sure it doesn't get damaged and break off.
Strangles you in your sleep (kind of haha)
And it makes you really sweaty when it's hot!

Now all I can say personally was cutting my hair was a really good decision for me. I feel like my hair now has style, volume, texture and it's so much easier to handle! Getting ready isn't such a chore anymore!
Since I've had my hair cut I've had a lot of people tell me I'm brave and that they want to cut their hair but they're scared. MY ADVICE: just go for it!!!! It's hair it will grow. There is no point sitting about debating these things go for it. Chances are you'll love it :) shorter hair is coming back ladies!!!
